Challenge: Venue Structure, a New Event and an All-Star Locale

The Story Behind the Solution - June 2010-February 2011:
Los Angeles' STAPLES Center had slotted our hospitality venue to be split between 2 indoor rooms with a capacity of only 75 people per room.  Allowing people the flexibility to mingle and move around while enjoying food and drink is key. Since our goal with our hospitality venues is to have all our customers in one comfortable and inviting space, and to make it a fun and exciting atmosphere, the hunt began!  

A more extended tour through STAPLES Center, lead to a discovery of an outdoor terrace with ample space and a great view of LA Live, but  with only one problem - it was outdoors - in February - in LA. Building a tent was the only way could be sure the guests would be protected from the elements, rain, wind and sun but we also didn't want to compromise the natural light during the day.  We custom designed our tent with a clear wall and a clear top panel, so guests could still have the feel of California, the view to LA LIVE and the celebrity pink carpet, all while still being protected from the elements!

Finally, we wanted to ensure that the feel of the venue matched the event, locale, and the sparkle of LA Live! To accomplish this, lighting and colors had to be addressed. We decided to mimic the California sun rising and setting and thus created two completely different themes for our venue! Turning to lighting, fabrics, and food to support the two themes, we used a cool blue lighting during the day, food that represented the "taste of LA" and a fabric palate that was fresh and cool. For the post party, in the evening, the food shifted to the Orlando locale in anticipation of the 2012 game and the venue was draped in a warm color palate and soft amber lighting. Our guests felt like they were entering a whole new venue!
