October 8, 2014

We're finally in the month of the 2014 Breeders' Cup! In just a few short weeks, the determined world's best thoroughbreds will arrive at Santa Anita Park to compete for the title of World Champion! The 13 Breeders' Cup World Championship races are on the horizon and it's time for you to really start planning the small details of your experience.

You've secured your Official Breeders' Cup
Ticket Package (hopefully through QuintEvents) complete with VIP in-track hospitality access already. Your package includes your hotel accommodations and transportation, so nothing to plan there. If you're coming from afar and you've booked your flight. The big details are complete.

Now it's the little things: time to plan what you're going to wear!

The Breeders' Cup is known to be attended by the social elite and there are some fashion faux pas you need to know when it comes to planning your outfit. After all, when you're going to be surrounded by some of the biggest names in Hollywood, A-list stars, professional athletes, and distinct individuals in the horse racing community, it's important you fit in! You don't want to stick out like a sore thumb, am I right?

Take a look at this guide on what to wear to the 2014 Breeders' Cup World Championships to ensure you make it through the racing weekend looking flawless! Ladies, let's begin with you!

The Ladies Guide to Dressing for the Breeders' Cup

1. It's All About the Dress

California weather is milder in the fall, but you'll be plenty warm in a sundress. Select a dress that compliments your body type and is comfortable; the last thing you need is to be in a tight dress you are pulling down all day!

Aim for bold colors that will help you stand out in a crowd (not in a negative way) and if you opt for a patterned dress, remember to not be too loud when it comes to accessories. Remember the class of people who will be in attendance - your outfit needs to help you fight for the spotlight!

2. Comfy is Key

In this case, we're talking about shoes. Whatever you do, make sure they're comfy. Regardless of your having a seat in the stands and luxurious seating in your VIP hospitality area, you're going to be on your feet a lot.

There's going to be a lot of standing and cheering, a lot of exploring Santa Anita Park, and a lot of mingling. While those stilettos might be the cutest shoes in your closet, if you can't be on your feet in them all day, kick them aside! Opt for something where you won't have blisters by noon and you won't be wanting to rip them off by 5 p.m.

3. To Hat or Not to Hat

While outrageous hats are all the rage at some horse races such as the Kentucky Derby, the Breeders' Cup is a much classier affair. While some of the ladies might wear hats, they are typically smaller and very fashionable.

If you opt to hat, make sure it is a hat that will blend with your outfit and not clash.

4. Accessorize!

Whatever you do, don't forget to complete your Breeders' Cup outfit! Accessories are going to help you do that. Sunglasses to prevent you from squinting into the California sun and jewelry that matches your outfit is a must!

5. Your Bag and Its Contents

Not unlike most race tracks, Santa Anita Park does have regulations on the type of objects that are permitted to be brought into the track - with large crowds come safety precautions. There are guidelines such as how large your bag can be, what size your camera lense must be and much more.

Now, do bring a small purse to keep personal items in and do bring your camera to take pictures (you have to document your memories after all!), just make sure they fall within Santa Anita's regulations. Be on the lookout for the regulations to be included in our Breeders' Cup Preview.

The Gents' Guide for Dressing for the Breeders' Cup

When it comes to all you guys, your guide is rather simple. The men that will be in attendance will be very fashion forward, so it's your goal to come off that way as well. Opt for a slimming suit and a skinny tie (all the rage in Hollywood right now).

We suggest keeping the color of your suit an earth tone (think navy, gray, black, khaki) and getting a little more colorful when it comes to your shirt and tie. If you want to go patterns on patterns, tread carefully! If you can pull off a crazy combo, go for it! If you can't, opt for a bold color shirt and a complimentary tie (or vice versa). Same goes for the gents as it does for the ladies, stand out, but don't have your outfit be loud.

Dress shoes and stunna shades complete your outfit, boys.

Uh Oh! Don't Have Your Tickets Yet?

You, wait until the second person, you! Don't have your tickets yet to the 2014 Breeders' Cup? Not to worry, Official Ticket Packages provided by QuintEvents are still available! With a variety of different seating locations paired with VIP in-track hospitality access still available, you still have time to secure your spot.

What makes Official Ticket Packages stand apart is the hospitality access. You'll be invited to enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch buffets, open bars, luxurious seating, and much more throughout both race days. It's a great place to unwind out of the crowded stands or to meet up with your group if you get disconnected. And since everything is included, you don't have to make any additional purchases at the track.

Transportation to and from the track and luxurious hotel accommodations in the Los Angeles area can also be included.

However, there is not much time left between now and the 2014 Breeders' Cup, so it's time to take action! Call 1-866-834-8663 to speak to a Breeders' Cup representative or visit QuintEvents website for more information.
