About Levi's Stadium

Designed by HNTB, Levi's Stadium is a massive open-air venue (1.85 million square feet, to put into perspective) that boasts 68,500 seats, 165 luxury suites and 8,500 club seats. The stadium was built to be environmentally friendly as it has a green roof on the suite tower on the west side of the stadium, three solar bridges connecting the main parking lot to the stadium, and includes hundreds of solar panels. It's the first United States professional football stadium to have achieved LEED Gold Certification.

Another great feature of Levi's Stadium is that it's located near public transportation. Parking is not anywhere near as big of an issue as it is at other stadiums due to this unique feature.

However, creating a stadium that "gives back", if you will, is not cheap. With the modern design, go-green elements and it's massive size, a whomping $1.2 billion went into creating this Santa Clara facility.

About Santa Clara

With a population of 116,468 people, Santa Clara is the ninth-most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area. Surrounded by San Jose, Sunnyvale and Cupertino, Santa Clara is a happening community and a great place to visit. Combine the elements of the city with the new Levi's Stadium and there you have it: the reason it was selected to host Super Bowl 50.
