The 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend will be here in a flash! It will all go down in New York City, Feb. 14-16. The contests and preliminary festivities will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center and the Sunday game at the iconic Madison Square Garden.
The weekend will showcase the best of the best from the East and West Conferences, and is also a perfect opportunity for fans to get to see players and legends’ personalities throughout some of the more relaxed and fun events.
If you have already secured your Official Ticket Package to the biggest sports party of the year, we have a few last minute tips for making your trip the best experience possible!
1. Take Public or Provided For Transportation
In case you have not heard, New York City is one, huge, bustling city. Hence, the traffic is going to be pretty rough, especially during a weekend as big as the NBA All-Star Weekend.
You can do yourself a BIG favor by taking public transportation to navigate to and from the Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center for all of the weekend festivities.
Or, if you are an NBA-Events package holder, you can take advantage of your provided-for transportation to and from Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center. This way, you will be certain you'll make it to each event of the weekend on-time.
2. Bring Warm Clothes
Another tip about the Big Apple in February… it will be cold! You can guard yourself against the cold temperatures and winds while touring the beautiful city by bundling up.
Don't forget to pack the coats, gloves, hats, and boots! During winter in New York, you never know what might be coming... the "snowpocalype" or beautiful weather!
3. Double-Check You Have The Important Things
You need to make sure you are prepared for the big weekend by ensuring you have your tickets, hospitality badges, transportation passes, etc. in a save place. I suggest making a check list to doubl-check you have each item you will need; you will enjoy your time in NYC so much more if you have these details taken care of before you head to the NBA All-Star Weekend.
If you're uncertain of what exactly you need to pack, that's okay. I've got your official packing guide right here!
4. Be Camera-Ready
With all of the celebrities out and about for the
NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, you will want to have a phone or camera handy for snapping a few pictures!
If you are an NBA-Events package holder, you will definitely want to be sure you have your phone or camera ready at all times for the on-site, NBA legend meet-and-greets, as well as your post-game on-court access.
5. See Everything You Can
You only live once, and you may only attend an event this big one time! So make sure you make the most of it!
Whatever you do, make sure you stay for the whole game. Christina Aguilera and the Rockettes will be performing to kick-off the Sunday game, and the half-time show will be headlined by the hit singer-songwriter Ariana Grande.
To make the most of your experience, you should attend all the festivities of the weekend:
Preliminary Festivities at Barclays Center in Brooklyn
- Shooting Stars
- Taco Bell Skills Challenge
- Foot Locker Three-Point Contest
- Sprite Slam Dunk Contest
