2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend Recap

By Victoria Barnett

August 11, 2015

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend was without a doubt one of the most exciting weekends of the year. The four days were full of action and fun including exclusive parties, meet and greets, photo opportunities, and autograph sessions. The Gold Jacket Ceremony, Aerosmith concert, Enshrinement Ceremony and Hall of Fame Game were big highlights of the weekend and certainly moments you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Nothing beats a four day celebration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015: Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Junior Seau, Charles Haley, Will Shields, Mick Tingelhoff, Bill Polian and Ron Wolf.  Let’s walk through each of the four days and see what our guests were able to experience.

VIP Thursday Night Reception

The first day of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend for our Diamond and Platinum guests kicked off with the VIP Thursday Night Reception at the Krassas Center in Canton. Besides the gourmet food and an open bar, our guests enjoyed a surprise visit from two current Hall of Famers, Anthony Munoz and Paul Warfield!

Enshrinees' Gold Jacket Ceremony

Following the reception, they headed over to the Canton Civic Center for the Enshrinees’ Gold Jacket Ceremony. Our guests had great views of the ceremony and were able to witness history as the Class of 2015 crossed the stage to put on their Gold Jackets!

Additionally, they were able to see many of their favorite football heroes and returning Hall of Famers take the stage. Although every Hall of Famer received cheers and shouts, we can’t deny that Steeler Nation was in the house as the crowd went absolutely wild for Jerome Bettis. It was quite the night!

Meanwhile, our Gold and Bronze members were treated to a Private Thursday Night Reception with beer and wine and hors d’oeuvres. They were then able to watch a live simulcast feed of the Enshrinees’ Gold Jacket Ceremony.

Meet and Greet

The second day of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend began with a meet and greet with three Hall of Famers from the Class of 2015. Our Diamond guests were able to shake hands and briefly chat with Will Shields, Bill Polian and Ron Wolf.

Pre-Concert Legendary VIP Party

After the meet and greet, the Pre-Concert Legendary VIP Party kicked off for all of our guests. With plenty of food and beer, games, music and dancing, everyone seemed to be having a great time. We even had the whole place singing "Don’t Stop Believin’"!

Concert for Legends

Following the Pre-Concert Legendary VIP Party, guests headed over to Tom Benson Stadium for the Concert for Legends. Our Diamond and Platinum guests sat on the field level while Gold and Bronze enjoyed Stadium Preferred Seating, all with incredible views of the stage. Living Colour was the first to take the stage and really got the crowd pumped up and excited.

However, nothing could compete with the intensity of the crowd when Aerosmith took the stage. Steven Tyler sang all of the classic Aerosmith songs ending with two crowd favorites: Sweet Emotion and Dream On. When asked about some of the favorite memories of the weekend, many guests had the Aerosmith concert ranked near the top! This concert was one for the books that’s for sure.

Enshrinement Stage Photo

The excitement continued on Day 3 of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend as our Diamond and Platinum guests had the opportunity to take a photo on the Enshrinement Stage where the Hall of Famers are inducted. Within the next few days, each guest will be able to view and download their high-quality complimentary photo.

Gold Jacket VIP Party

After the photo-op, Diamond and Platinum guests met up with our Gold guests for the Gold Jacket VIP Party. Our guests lined up to take pictures with returning Hall of Famers Dermontti Dawson, Derrick Brooks, Ray Guy and Chris Doleman. They were treated to gourmet food from a carving station along with a premium open bar.

Enshrinement Celebration Fan Party

Our Bronze guests spent part of their evening at the Enshrinement Celebration Fan Party with great music, food and beer before heading over to the Class of 2015 Enshrinement Ceremony.

Gold Jacket Walk

Following the Gold Jacket VIP Party, Diamond and Platinum guests headed over to Tom Benson Stadium for a front-line view of the Gold Jacket Walk. They were the closest anyone could get as returning Hall of Famers made their way to the Enshrinement Stage. Needless to say, there were plenty of cheers for the Hall of Famers and even the food and water guys. The crowd sure did have fun!

Class of 2015 Enshrinement Ceremony

The highlight of the weekend finally arrived as all of our guests were able to witness the Class of 2015 Enshrinement Ceremony. Diamond and Platinum guests were given VIP Field Preferred Seats, Gold guests were given Field Preferred Seats and Bronze guests were given Stadium Preferred Seats. The Enshrinement Ceremony was beautiful and emotional. Each member of the Class of 2015 gave a phenomenal speech, many of which really tugged at your heartstrings.

Additionally, the amount of courage it took for Sydney Seau to speak about her dad, Junior Seau, was truly inspiring. There was not a dry eye in the place as she spoke of her father’s life on and off the field. There’s no doubt his legacy will live on!

The night ended with the wheels on the bus going round and round. Jerome “The Bus” Bettis got the crowd on their feet as they cheered and waved their “Terrible Towels.” Looks like the bus didn’t stop in Detroit, Jerome! It will keep on going in Canton!

Early Hall of Fame Admission

The final day of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend started early as Diamond, Platinum and Gold guests gained early admission to the Hall of Fame. They were the first to see the 2015 Class’ bronze busts on display before the doors opened to the general public.

Enshrinees' Game Day Roundtable Luncheon

The day continued for these guests at the Enshrinees’ Game Day Roundtable Luncheon, where guests were able to dine with the Class of 2015. They then headed over to the Game Day Roundtable for a question and answer session with the 2015 Hall of Famers. The laid-back atmosphere made for a fun time as the current class answered questions and talked about some of their favorite memories over the years.

Class of 2015 Autograph Session

After the Game Day Roundtable, Diamond guests were able to experience an exclusive Class of 2015 Autograph Session. From helmets to jerseys to pictures, each guest brought their own unique item for the Hall of Famers to sign. Between the Game Day Roundtable Luncheon and the Autograph Session, we were able to see the personality of the Hall of Famers come out. They’re so much fun to talk with and be around!

VIP Kickoff Tailgate Party

Later in the day, Diamond, Platinum and Gold guests headed to the VIP Kickoff Tailgate Party. I think the mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese bar was certainly a hit! To top off the party, guests were able to take pictures with five current Hall of Famers: Andre Reed, Aeneas Williams, Billy Shaw, Randall McDaniel and John Randle. It was a packed house! What was truly incredible was how kind and genuine the Hall of Famers were, not just Sunday but throughout the entire weekend.

Game Day Tailgate Party

Meanwhile, our Bronze guests enjoyed more food, music and dancing at the Game Day Tailgate Party to get pumped up for the NFL/Hall of Fame Game!

Hall of Fame Game

As the tailgate parties came to a close, all guests ventured over to Tom Benson Stadium for the final event of the weekend: the Hall of Fame Game! All guests enjoyed Gold Zone Seating between the 35s to witness the action of the Steelers/Vikings game. The Vikings came out on top with a 14-3 victory over the Steelers!
