“Smart” Stadium

Levi’s Stadium is arguably the most high-tech stadium in the world. The stadium allows 70,000+ people to connect to Wi-Fi and 4G networks! How awesome is that? The goal was to enhance the in-stadium fan experience by making it possible to see the action live while still being able to access similar features fans would have at home. Many fans want to be able to pull up stats, replays and other media when live play isn’t taking place. Now they easily can!

How did they achieve this goal? They laid out 400 miles of cabling, 70 miles of which are dedicated to 1,200 antenna systems that serve the Wi-Fi routers. The stadium also boasts 1,700 high-tech beacons that use Bluetooth Low Energy to give people directions to their seats and any other place in the stadium.

There’s even a Levi’s Stadium app that you can download. It features a guide to the stadium, instant replays, a guide to the bathroom with the shortest line (obviously a priority), and the ability to order food or drinks and have them delivered to your seat. We can’t forget to mention the personalized picture greeting on the scoreboard. This feature automatically takes fans’ pictures posted to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #LevisStadium and posts them to the big screen.

Levi’s Stadium really sets the standard high, doesn’t it?

Levi’s Stadium is dedicated to being environmentally friendly. In fact, it was the first stadium to host an NFL team with LEED Gold Certification. The stadium is located on a sustainable site and uses recycled and reclaimed building products where possible.

It features a 27,000 square foot “Green Roof” atop the suite tower that contains 40 different types of vegetation. The stadium also features three solar bridges connecting the parking area to the stadium. Plus, it uses reclaimed water and works with local suppliers for its farm-to-table menus. In addition, visitors and guests can view a live dashboard that displays current energy measurements, water and air monitors, and other features that the stadium operates on a daily basis.
